A technology developed by NASA to prevent fuselage cracks in spacecraft due to sudden temperature changes and to protect astronauts from extreme temperature deviations. Some substances change from one physical state to another in a solid state → liquid, liquid → solid. A substance that stores or emits a large amount of heat energy through a kind of physical change process

Phase change is a kind of physical change in which a substance changes from one state to another, from solid to liquid, from liquid to solid, from liquid to gas, from gas to liquid. In this phase change process, all materials change their physical arrangement, not chemical reactions such as chemical bonding or formation.
